The mahurat of a historical film was held at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district recently. Actor
Manoj Mishra plays the role of tribal freedom fighter Rendo Majhi, on whose life this film is based.
The maker of this biopic decided to organise the mahurat at Kalahandi as the story is based in that area.
The event saw the cast and crew of the film in attendance including its screenplay writer and director Amaresh Jena.
Odisha Energy, MSME and Industry minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra was the chief guest.
“This is a good thing that we are making films on historical figures. Rendo Majhi’s story is 170 years old and the world must know about this tribal hero. It’s my good luck that I am going to play the role of such a brave man,” said Manoj.
The film also stars
Jaya Biswas, Jagannah Seth, Kadir Khan and Rameswar Tripathy in vital roles. Parmeswar Mund has done the research and penned the dialogues, while Pankaj Jal is scoring the music.
