A two-day festival celebrating Odisha's culture, tradition, heritage and cuisine at Surat concluded recently. The mega celebration, known as Odisha Parba 2018, saw huge congregation of Odias living there. It was an opportunity for people of Surat — the business capital of Gujarat — to witness the culture, tradition, dance and music of this eastern state.
The festival that started last year in Delhi was organised in Surat this year. Petroleum and Natural Gas minister
Dharmendra Pradhan said it would be held in other states in the coming days. Live performances by Ollywod musicians Abhijit Majumdar, Sohini Mishra, Baboo Panigrahi, along with folk dances like animal mask dance, Bonda dance, fusion of Odisha’s classical dances and garba were seen on the occasion.
