Ollywood artistes felicitated

The makers of an upcoming Odia film felicitated around 20 film and television artistes of the state at a city park recently. Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro and local MLA Sushant Kumar Rout felicitated the artistes.

Among those honoured were actors Rakesh Deo and Pritiraj Satpathy, actresses Bhoomika Dash and Aishwarya Behera, filmmaker Debajyoti Patra and several other artistes, including Shankarshan Pradhan, Debi Barik, comedian Guddu, Mamata Dash and Gyana Barik.
The Speaker hailed the initiative at a time when the entertainment industry has been affected badly. “This is a good step by the makers of the film to boost the morale of the artiste community,” he said, while advising the gathering to follow social distancing norms, regularly wash hands and stay safe.
The artistes also expressed their gratitude and hoped other filmmakers and production houses would organise such events. Film shoots were halted for around four months in the state, adversely affecting the artistes. The shoots have not yet picked up in the state.
