Holi hai! An Abeer-Gulaal golf tournament on Saturday morning followed by a bash in the evening was how a prominent club in the city celebrated Holi this year.
While the winners of the golf tourny – Dhruv Seth, Vikram Bhargava, Arun Mehndiratta, Subhash Chandra, AK Mitra and RK Pandit among others – added more fervour to their festival, the guests in the evening had an entertaining time.
Singers Kishore Chaturvedi and Swati Rizvi regaled the guests with traditional Holi songs while a dance troupe presented some folk dances.
Better late than never: That’s the mantra of party-goers in town. While there are plenty of punctual people around, there’s no dearth of people who’d rather come in late than not at all. Tanya Rastogi was one of those. However, among the early birds were Garv and Surbhi Bhugra and their gang of friends. Sonam Ahuja was also there on time, dressed in a multi-coloured dress she thought was apt for a colourful occasion like Holi.
Mera wala multi-colour: In fact, most women at the do either went the white salwar-kameez way to get into the Rekha-esque spirit of Holi or sported psychedelic prints to make a colourful statement. While Timcy fell in the former category, Aanchal fitted in the latter. More sedately dressed in western formals was Rohita Suri, who was there with hubby Mohit. Beena Krishna was seen sporting an occasion-appropriate Anarkali suit, which was a nice change from her usual sari-clad avatar. Tanu Bhargava, on the other hand, went the casual route in capris and a tee.
Party abhi baki hai: Dr Sudhir Kapoor busied himself with ensuring things were taking care of themselves before indulging in a bit of revelry. On the other hand, most guests at the do were busy making plans for the morning after – the Holi day and deciding where, how and when of their Holi get-togethers.
