Amrish Puri wanted to be a hero

Amrish Puri is an actor who started pretty late. He was 40 when the acting bug bit him.
His elder brothers Madan Puri and Chaman Puri were already into films. Amrish wanted to play the hero and approached several producers with his portfolio.
After a few supporting roles and failed attempts to bag the hero’s position, Amrish Puri went on to play the main villain and became one of the most menacing onscreen villain.
