Akshay Kumar is set to take on the pivotal role of C. Sankaran Nair in the upcoming biopic directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The narrative revolves around Nair's significant battle against the British Empire, particularly in a case concerning the infamous Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
In this cinematic venture, Ananya Panday joins the cast as a budding lawyer, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar. Sources revealed to Bollywood Hungama that Kumar portrays a senior and esteemed lawyer, while Panday's character seeks guidance from him, establishing a mentor-protege relationship devoid of any romantic elements.
The film delves into the historical and legal complexities surrounding the Jallianwala Bagh incident, chronicling the remarkable efforts and challenges faced by C. Sankaran Nair in his pursuit of justice against British rule.
Akshay Kumar's recent project, 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,' directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, showcased his versatility. The film, released in October, centered around the heroic endeavors of Jaswant Singh Gill, who courageously saved miners trapped in a flooded mine in Raniganj back in 1989. Kumar portrayed the character of Gill in the film, supported by a cast including Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, and others.
