In an interview with India Today, Anupam mentioned that since childhood, he had been told that if he worked hard at anything, he would earn an award. He emphasises that his next film, ‘Vijay 69,’ is not just a national endeavor but has the qualities to compete internationally. "I love awards; let me just get that out of my system. Anupam Kher says his 'great act' in 'The Kashmir Files' deserved National Award: 'I did not have to fake my emotions'

Kher expressed his thoughts on ‘The Kashmir Files’ not securing major awards, including the National Award. He remarked that many awards today may not be entirely based on "competence or brilliance." Reflecting on his performance in the film, which he considers one of his finest, Kher shared that he was initially curious about who would win in his place. "When I didn't win the main awards for 'The Kashmir Files,' which is one of my favorite and most brilliant performances, I started wondering, 'Who will get it?' I'm not bitter about it," the actor recalled.

The ‘Saaransh’ actor expressed that while he did not receive an award for ‘The Kashmir Files,’ he would still welcome one for his role in ‘Vijay 69.’ He emphasized that the film being on Netflix, a prestigious OTT platform, is already a significant achievement. Kher added that audience appreciation matters most to him, and he is confident that the film will be well-received, which in itself would be a victory.
His next movie, ‘Vijay 69,’ will be available on OTT on November 8.
