Shahid Kapoor has signed on for another project, this time a sequel to the romantic comedy Cocktail 2. The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, who is expanding his 2012 hit Cocktail into a franchise with a completely new cast.
According to a report on Peepingmoon.com, Shahid will headline the sequel to Cocktail, replacing Saif Ali Khan, who starred in the original alongside Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. The makers have also finalised the heroines, with Pushpa 2 star Rashmika joining the cast.
The actress has been confirmed to play one of the two leading ladies in the love triangle. Negotiations for the film are in the final stages.

This romantic comedy will be the first time Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna will appear together on-screen. Earlier, there were reports of the two starring in a double-role comedy directed by Anees Bazmee, but the project fell through due to budgetary issues.

On the work front, Shahid recently revealed that he is preparing for his next project, the gritty gangster drama Arjun Ustara, set in the 90s, co-starring Triptii Dimri and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. He will also feature in another film with Vishal titled Deva, scheduled for a theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
Rashmika, on the other hand, is riding high on the success of Pushpa 2 with Allu Arjun. She will also star alongside Salman Khan in Sikandar and has upcoming South Indian films such as Kubera, The Girlfriend, and Thama.
