"Blockbuster button loading!" Fans react to Akshay Kumar's post as he hints for ‘Kesari 2’

Akshay Kumar marked six years of 'Kesari' (2019) with a special post, hinting at a sequel. The film, based on the heroic 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, showcased the bravery of 21 Sikh soldiers against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen. Akshay's portrayal of Havildar Ishar Singh received widespread praise, and fans are excited about his possible return in 'Kesari 2'.
Akshay shared a video showcasing the courage of Sikh soldiers in 'Kesari'. In the caption, he teased a sequel by mentioning that “a new chapter” is coming soon, leaving fans eager for more.

'Kesari Chapter 2' is reportedly set to release on April 18, 2025. Starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, the film is expected to delve into the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh previously shared the news on X. The sequel may explore barrister C Sankaran Nair’s fight to uncover the truth behind the 1919 tragedy.
The 2019 war drama 'Kesari', directed by Anurag Singh, featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Released on March 21, 2019, during Holi, 'Kesari' became a commercial success, grossing over ₹207 crore worldwide.
Yesterday on March 20, Karan Johar announced he is introducing a new filmmaker through his production house. He took to his Instagram, and shared a long note in which he spoke about introducing a new director with his upcoming production. He wrote, “When I began producing films (once I stepped into Dharma as an active part of the company), in 2003 with Kal Ho Naa Ho - the idea was to empower filmmakers and storytellers...to pay it forward. We got it right...we got it wrong but the intent was always to put out stories and films we believed in. The motive was only either entertain, seek acclaim or to simply have fun at the movies (sic)”. He further mentioned that he is so proud to say that their next offering is the 24th debutant filmmaker he has introduced to Hindi cinema.
