Dibakar Banerjee trumps Anurag Kashyap at money management

Even as the dust refuses to settle on Anurag Kashyap's latest dud, there are some who are comparing his commercial report card with that of Dibakar Banerjee's.

According to those in the know, the Kashyap venture may have knocked the winds of out Fox Star's sail, given the lavish budget he was given to work with and which he had well exceeded. A far cry from Dibakar's Byomkesh, which too was a period flick with heavy CG and elaborate set design. In Dibakar's case, not only did he stick to the budget, he even returned a chunk of the unused monies he was given by his production house.
Now that's some sharp accounting, what say? As for Anurag, maybe it is about time to go for that diving expedition with his daughter, as yours truly had predicted weeks ago.
