'Kal Ho Naa Ho' actor Delnaaz Irani reveals why she ended her decade-and-a-half-long marriage with Rajeev Paul: 'When there is no respect in the relationship...'

Delnaaz Irani, known for her role as Kavita in Yes Boss, is loved for her cheerful personality and charming smile. However, she faced a tough phase in life when her 14-year marriage came to an end.
Delnaaz recently shared insights about her 14-year marriage with Rajeev Paul in SCREEN: Dear Me. She revealed the reasons behind their separation, which began in 2010 and ended in divorce by 2012. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the lessons learned, acknowledging that their relationship had naturally run its course.
Delnaaz further revealed that she had emotionally moved on from her marriage with Rajeev Paul long before officially leaving. She explained that, despite Rajeev’s reluctance to acknowledge it, they had grown apart, and their relationship lacked love and respect. For her, respect is essential, and without it, moving on was the best decision.

She also expressed that while some people stay in unhappy marriages, she didn’t see a reason to deceive herself. She was clear about not wanting to live a life based on falsehoods. She also addressed claims that she wouldn’t have left Rajeev if they had a child, calling such assumptions purely hypothetical.
Delnaaz reflected on the criticism she faced for ignoring Rajeev Paul on Bigg Boss. She recalled how they married young, deeply in love but struggling to build their future. Over time, they grew apart despite her initial hope to mend things. However, when emotional, physical, and mental disconnect set in, she knew it was over. Addressing public judgment, she emphasized that outsiders couldn’t understand her journey. Once she moves on from a relationship, she does so completely.
After her divorce from Rajeev Paul, Delnaaz Irani found love with DJ Percy Karkaria. Together for 13 years, they chose not to marry but remain committed. Percy proposed with a promise ring in a heartfelt, unconventional way, asking her to "grow old with him," a promise he has kept ever since.
