In a past interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, she candidly expressed her feelings about her past and the evolution of her career.Kareena, who made her debut in 2000 with 'Refugee', stated that she has undergone significant changes throughout her career. “I always look back and smile because I am proud of my journey. I don’t have time for regrets,” she remarked, emphasizing the importance of personal growth. Over the years, she has learned from her experiences and considers herself a "completely different person" now. “I am happy that I have evolved as a person. It is important, both professionally and personally,” she added.
Reflecting on her earlier years, Kareena noted that during her late teens and twenties, she was overwhelmed by the chaos surrounding her. “In my late teens… even 20s for that matter, I was too caught up with so much going on in my life,” she admitted. However, she has since transitioned into a phase where she prioritizes relaxation and living life on her own terms.

Despite this, she does not harbor regrets about that time. “Today, I am more grounded,” she stated, recognizing how the competitive nature of the industry has shaped her perspective. She recalled a time when competition was fierce, saying, “A decade or so ago, there was a lot of competition, and people were constantly pitted against each other.” However, she feels equipped to handle any provocations with confidence: “If someone tries to instigate me, I will always be on top of the situation.”

She emphasized the importance of being present for her family, particularly for her children. “I don’t feel like leaving my kids alone, I want to be able to choose—because I’d rather sit at home with my husband and watch a show or have a glass of wine,” she explained.
