Kartik Aaryan is preparing for the release of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', following the success of the previous film in the franchise, which performed well at the box office. The horror-comedy genre has gained momentum this year, especially with the release of 'Stree 2' featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Despite the heightened expectations, Kartik feels no pressure regarding his upcoming film.
Speaking to the Indian Express, he emphasised the strategic calculations behind film releases. He explained that factors like the team involved, the success of previous films, audience demographics, and timing—such as holidays—are all crucial. When these elements are well-analyzed, it helps alleviate pressure on the cast and crew.
Kartik shared insights about his unique journey in Bollywood, emphasizing that he has never had anything handed to him. He remarked that he had to make the plate himself; no one came to me with a platter. Unlike some peers, he worked with debut directors and didn’t have access to big-name filmmakers at the start. While he acknowledges that luck hasn’t always been on his side, he understands where his growth potential lies and feels content with his achievements thus far.
The actor added that he is not comparing. He is in a good space because nobody knew him when he came to the city and now, he is recognised in every corner of the country. That’s something to be grateful about.
The first 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' movie was a remake of the 1993 Malayalam film 'Manichitrathazhu', starring Akshay Kumar as Dr. Aditya Shrivastava and Vidya Balan as a woman who believes she is possessed by a dancer's ghost. Kartik continued this legacy with 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', released in 2022 with Kiara Advani and Tabu. Now, with 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' set to release on Diwali 2024, Kartik will return alongside Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Triptii Dimri.
