Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava, who gave delightful performances. Although it was praised during its theatrical release, 'Laapataa Ladies' truly found its audience on Netflix, gaining a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim.
Recently, Pratibha Ranta shared her insights on the experience of working with the talented Kiran Rao.
In a chat with Filmygyan, Pratibha Ranta shared that the film has deeply connected with viewers. She highlighted that it's more than just a story, mentioning that people are praising her character, Jaya Singh, as well as showing equal love for Phool Kumari and Deepak Kumar.
Pratibha stated, “I’ve noticed that Laapataa Ladies has become more like an emotion. Whenever something happens, like if Jaya is getting a lot of praise, someone will say, ‘Praise Phool too,’ and suddenly Phool gets a lot of praise. If Phool is praised, then how can you miss Deepak? It’s just so beautiful to watch how people are emotionally connecting themselves to this film. I feel Laapataa has really become an emotion.”
Additionally, Pratibha Ranta mentioned that during the shooting of "Laapataa Ladies," which was during the third wave. She also recalled that on set, observing Kiran Rao, one would never sense any panic. Pratibha also noted that Kiran Rao was very nurturing towards everyone on set. The atmosphere was filled with fun and laughter during the shoot, and time seemed to fly by without notice. Pratibha concluded that her best experience was working on "Laapataa Ladies."
Apart from Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha, and Sparsh Shrivastava, the movie produced by
Aamir Khan also included Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in important roles. The film revolves around two young brides who accidentally switch places during a train trip to their husbands' homes.
It's been a successful year for Pratibha Ranta in 2024. Apart from her role in Kiran Rao's 'Laapataa Ladies,' she's also receiving praise for her brief appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut series, 'Heeramandi,' which stars Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, and Manisha Koirala.
