Recounting the early days of their connection, Ratna Pathak Shah revealed that they were performing together in a play titled 'Sambhog Se Sannyas Tak.' During this time, the realization happened to them that they were genuinely meant to be together. She candidly shared that they were somewhat naive, not delving into too many questions and just deciding to give it a try, saying, "This sounds good, let’s just try," and remarkably, it worked out. It was a fortunate twist of fate that brought them together.
Ratna Pathak Shah also addressed the matter of Naseeruddin Shah's past relationships. She expressed that his prior romantic entanglements were of no consequence to her, as her love for him transcended the boundaries of the past. Naseeruddin Shah had already been separated from his ex-wife for a considerable period, and she was deeply in love with him. Reflecting on this, she shared her perspective, "As long as I am the last, she is okay."
The couple's early days of marriage were far from conventional, marked by Naseeruddin's demanding film schedule. Ratna Pathak Shah humorously recalled their unconventional honeymoon that was interrupted when Naseeruddin had to return to the set of 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro.' The shoot was arduous and kept them apart for days, leaving her unsure of his whereabouts. It was an exciting yet challenging time in their journey together.
