Raima Sen, who worked with eminent film-maker Rituparno Ghosh expresses her grief on the sad demise of the eight time National Film Award winning director. Raima asserts that Rituparno Ghosh was her mentor and took her career to another level with Bengali film
Chokher Bali. “He was my mentor and turned my life around with Choker Bali. I have worked in every film with him,” said Raima.
“He would call me his daughter and he was the only one who had immense belief in me. I took every advice from him. He was like a family to me and his demise is great loss to Indian cinema,” added Raima.
Rituparno began his career directing in advertising in 1992. His second movie
Unishe April (1995) won the National Film Award. Later, he directed many cult movies like
Dahan,
Chokher Bali, Antarmahal, Asukh, Bariwali. Rituparno Ghosh died with a massive heart attack in Kolkata at around 7:30 am today (30th May).
