Twinkle Khanna, who is known for her wit and humor, had earlier expressed her desire for her children to elope and marry. Married to actor Akshay Kumar since 2001, they share two children, a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara.
In her column in Times of India last year, Khanna remarked, "My sister interrupts my wandering thoughts. 'You're talking about last names, but what about all the fuss we'll have to deal with? The bar has been set very high after the Ambani events.' I responded, 'Well, I can't dance like Nita Bhabhi. The last time I attempted to dance to Tamma Tamma Loge during the pandemic, I believe even God didn't want to witness my uncoordinated footwork, because I immediately fell down and fractured my leg.'"
She further said, "My husband can barely stay awake after 10 pm, and we both get anxious about hosting dinner parties for over 20 people.’ I pause for breath, ‘If my children really want me to be happy, then the best thing they can do is just elope."
In the same column, Twinkle Khanna also delved into the recent three-day pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar.
Speaking about her husband Akshay Kumar's energetic performance, Twinkle likened his vigorous dancing to the arduous task of digging an oil well in the soil of Jamnagar. She humorously remarked, “He then performs a punching dance step that he repeats 33 times with so much force that it feels like he is about to dig another oil well through the stage and into the Jamnagar soil.”
Twinkle Khanna married actor Akshay Kumar on January 17, 2001. They have two children, a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara. Twinkle made her acting debut with the film 'Barsaat' in 1995. However, she decided to retire from acting in 2001 after featuring in several films. Her final appearance on screen was in the movie 'Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega'.
