Ullas Samrat made his acting debut with a short film titled Taps, playing an unconventional role as a gay character. Reflecting on what drew him to the role, Ullas shared, “It was the story itself and the unique way it was being told. From my first meeting with the director, I knew I was in good hands. It’s a deeply intimate and human story centered around a gay couple. But honestly, after our initial conversation, the fact that we were playing gay characters didn’t even cross my mind.”
Ullas, who is the brother of actor Pulkit Samrat, was asked about what he learned from Pulkit’s career, to which he replied, “I’ve learned that pursuing something that nourishes your soul requires discipline, determination, and self-belief. However, Pulkit’s journey is his own, and mine will be different. While I can draw inspiration from him, I am aware that I must carve my own path to avoid losing my individual identity.”
When it comes to his sources of inspiration, Ullas said, “I’m inspired by anyone striving to become the best version of themselves, no matter their field. I’m excited to work on projects that resonate with people on a deeper level. I’m not interested in taking on generic roles that lack the depth I seek to explore.”

After his debut in a 15-minute short, Ullas is now preparing for a web series. He revealed, “I’ve just wrapped up shooting for a show on a major OTT platform, and I’m really excited for audiences to see it. The cast is fantastic, and it’s being directed by a renowned filmmaker.”
