Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi found himself the target of a storm of bizarre comments on his Instagram recently, all thanks to a hilarious case of mistaken identity. Fans of cricketer Virat Kohli, in their fury, flooded Warsi’s social media, blaming him for getting Kohli out in an IPL 2025 match. Instead of cricketer Arshad Khan, furious Kohli fans mistakenly flooded actor Warsi’s social media with hate comments.

On Wednesday, during a high-voltage IPL clash, Gujarat Titans' fast bowler Arshad Khan dismissed Virat Kohli cheaply. Furious Kohli fans, however, mixed up the names and charged towards Arshad Warsi instead. His Instagram comment section was soon filled with angry and hilarious messages. One user raged, "Kohli, why did you go out?!" (Why did you dismiss Kohli?!), while another even tried a threat: "Dekh lunga terko" (I will see you!). Someone, clearly a fan of Warsi’s film 'Munna Bhai MBBS,' cracked, "Ee Circuit, tu Kohli ka wicket kyun liya re?" (Hey Circuit, why did you take Kohli’s wicket?). (Hey Circuit, why did you take Kohli’s wicket?). Another added, "Kohli ko OUT kyun kiya sir, ruko Munna Bhaiya ko bolta hu" (Sir, why did you get Kohli out? Wait, I’ll tell Munna Bhai!).
Some fans stepped in to apologize
Not all fans were out for digital blood, though. Some, realizing the mix-up, apologized on behalf of their confused comrades. One user borrowed a classic Warsi line from 'Jolly LLB' and joked, "Arshad Warsi is like, Kaun hai ye log aur kahaan se aate hain?" (Who are these people, and where do they come from?). Others kept it simple, commenting, "Sorry, Arshad Bhai" and "Unke taraf se maafi, Arshad Bhai" (Apologies on their behalf, Arshad brother).


And while Warsi didn’t take Kohli’s wicket, he is gearing up to deliver knockout punches on-screen with his next film, 'Jolly LLB 3.'
