The much-anticipated film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is one of the biggest projects in Indian cinema. The film has generated a lot of buzz, thanks to its impressive cast, which includes Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol, and Sai Pallavi. In an exciting update, Yash, who is also co-producing the film with Namit Malhotra, will begin shooting for his role as Raavana this week in Mumbai.
Temple Visit Before Shoot
According to a report published in Pinkvilla, after completing a major schedule for Toxic, Yash is now ready to start filming for Ramayana under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari in Mumbai. Before beginning his journey on the film, Yash will visit the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, following his tradition of starting every new project with a temple visit. For this schedule, Yash will focus on shooting his solo scenes, and the makers have created a special setup to welcome the Pan-India star.

A Technological Spectacle
Ramayana is being crafted as a technological spectacle, with the makers planning to film some visually grand sequences featuring Yash in the first schedule. He is expected to shoot his portions from the end of April for nearly a month before returning to Toxic. The epic, presented in two parts, is set to release on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.

Epic Face-Off Between Ram and Raavana
Ramayana will showcase an epic clash between Yash as Raavana and Ranbir Kapoor as Ram. Sunny Deol, playing Lord Hanuman, is expected to join the shoot in June. The film is produced by DNEG in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Yash, as a co-producer, has also been deeply involved in the creative process of this grand cinematic venture.
Yash’s Big Box Office Return
After the blockbuster success of KGF and KGF 2, Yash is set to make a double impact at the box office in 2026 with Toxic releasing in March and Ramayana in October. Both films are planned as global projects, with Toxic being shot in Kannada and English to reach international audiences.
