After a 5-year spiritual hiatus, Vinod Khanna's return to cinema in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Prem Dharm' was marked by controversy. During an intimate scene with Dimple Kapadia, Khanna reportedly lost control, continuing to hug and kiss her despite Bhatt's calls to cut.

Vinod Khanna left movies at the peak of his career and joined spiritual Guru Osho Rajneesh. However, he came back to movies after a hiatus of 5-years as he returned to the glam world after his spiritual journey. As he got back to the movies after a really long time, he was shooting for Mahesh Bhatt's film 'Prem Dharm'.
The film starred Vinod opposite Dimple Kapadia and and he was also doing an intimate scene for a film after a really long time. Several reports at that time suggested that as the scene required Khanna to hug and kiss Dimple Kapadia, he lost his control and continued hugging and kissing her even as Mahesh Bhatt said cut.
After already doing the scene once, Mahesh Bhatt decided to take one more shot of the scene with a long duration. He shifted his position along with the crew and sat a little far to take the shot. Vinod continued hugging and kissing Dimple despite Bhatt said 'cut' as he did not hear him and also lost his control, as per reports, according to an article in Bollywood Shadis.com.
So, Mahesh Bhatt along with the other crew members rushed towards them and released Dimple from him. The actress was scared and shocked. She rushed to her make-up room. Later, Bhatt told Vinod to convince her that he was drunk and apologise to her. He also admitted that he lost his control as he was shooting for an intimate scene after a very long break.
This film 'Prem Dharm' also starred Hema Malini.
