Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are headed for a divorce and the Bombay High Court has now ordered to speed up the proceedings. Thus, they have waived off the six-month cooling period so that the final hearing of the divorce can take place before the IPL (Indian Premiere League), begins on March 23.
It was said that the final hearing will take place on March 20, Thursday and Chahal was now seen arriving at the family court in Bandra. He was seen hiding his face with a hood and mask. Under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, a six-month cooling-off period is mandatory before granting a divorce decree. But in this case, six month cooling period has been waived off. This is also because the couple was already living separately since two and a half years and are getting divorced through mutual consent.

After Yuzvendra, Dhanashree also arrived at the court. Both of them were wearing masks to hide their faces.

Meanwhile, the court has told Chahal to pay Rs 4.75 crore to Dhanashree. He had paid Rs 2.37 crore already. The Bombay High Court has ordered the family court in Bandra to take the final decision by May 20 due to Yuzvendra's commitment towards the IPL. He plays for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.
It was being reported that Dhanashree has demanded an alimony of around Rs 60 crore but her family issued a statement and denied this. They said, "We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clearno such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever."
