One of the most senior directors of the Kannada film industry in the early 80s, Umesh, is making a comeback of sorts with the film 24 Carat. The director is best known for the film Avale Nanna Hendthi. One of the most interesting aspects of the film is its cast. The leads will be played by newcomers
Virat and
Pooja. Retired cop BK Shivaram will also feature in the film, and Dhananjay -- the son of veteran stunt director Nanjundi Nagaraj -- will make his debut as a villain with this project.
The other supporting cast members include Shobaraj, Rangayana Raghu, Mangalore Suresh, Srinivas, Rock Satish, Deepu, Basavaraj and Padmanabhan.
Novelist Vijaya Chandur has worked on the dialogues for the film. Four of the songs in
24 Carat are being composed by AT Ravish. The film is being shot in Bangalore, Mysore, Madikeri, Shimoga and Jog, among other places, in a single schedule.
