Filmmakers United Club to celebrate MS Sathyu turning 90
MS Sathyu recently turned 90 and it was one of the most celebrated occasions by all people from cinema, art and theatre. There were special videos, messages and posts from the fraternity, who spoke about him, his contribution to the cultural landscape of India and how they celebrate his work and their association with him.
In continuation with the celebrations through his birthday month, the recently launched Filmmakers United Club is organising a special event that they have titled MS Sathyu at 90.

They will have a special chat session with him, as well as some messages from people dear to him.
Announcing this, the Filmmakers United Club says, "Filmmaker, theater person and designer MS Sathyu turned 90 years on 6th July 2020. Filmmakers United Club pays tribute to him this Sunday at 5 pm. Prakash Belawadi will moderate an online discussion with Sathyu on his life and work. Also, many who have worked with Sathyu will briefly join to interact with him. Among those joining us are - Shabana Azmi, Arundhati Nag, P Sheshadri, Dattanna, Sreenivas G (Kappanna) and Masood Akhtar. The interaction will be streaming live on the F. U. C. YouTube channel this Sunday, 19th July 2020 from 5pm to 6:30pm."
Sathyu, who is credited for making masterpieces like Garm Hawa that is counted as one of the best works in world cinema in many lists, has been active online, by conducting sessions on theatre and its various technical aspects. His work in theatre, films, television and non-fiction have all been considered as academic works and are studied by students of art and culture worldwide.
