Challenging Star Darshan's recent endeavor of urging the general public to adopt zoo animals has been seeing many positive results. Owing to his stature as one of the biggest actors of southern India, the cause has been gaining tremendous traction over the past couple of days with many choosing to sponsor the well-being of the animals sheltered in zoos across Karnataka.
The influx of funds is coming on back of
Darshan's recent plea wherein he implored the public to support the deprived zoos and animal sanctuaries in Karnataka.
In the same spirit, one of Darshan's recent collaborators and film producer
Shylaja Nag has come forward to offer support to a lion that's incidentally named "Darshan". Sheltered currently in the Sri Chamarajendra Zoo of Mysuru, the four-legged beast was recently adopted by Shylaja Nag along with music composer and her partner at "DBeats",
V. Harikrishna (reportedly). Darshan took to social media yesterday (June 6th) to make the announcement.
Through the help of video, actor Darshan had recently highlighted the current plight of animal sanctuaries/zoos in Karnataka. Due to the pandemic, all the nine animal zoo spots in Karnataka have been rendered empty, and as a result, the authorities have been facing difficulties in taking care of the sheltered animals and also provide wages to their employees. With the help of the new adoption program, the Zoo Authority of Karnataka hopes to attract funds from the general public which in turn shall get the opportunity to voluntarily provide for the nourishment of an animal of their choice. Thanks to Darshan's popularity, a number of fans have already come forward with sizeable contributions.
