Gajapati and Gajakesari are different films

There has been some confusion about producer Jayanna’s films Gajapati and Gajakesari. Gajapati was announced earlier this year with Duniya Vijay in the lead. But soon afterwards, the director of the film Krishna announced that Vijay had been replaced by Yash and the film’s title had been changed. The rest of the cast and crew will, however, remain the same.
Krishna said the story has been changed as well, which was caused by Vijay’s non-availability of dates.Though it is said to be a different film, there seems to be little doubt that only the hero has been changed and the title altered a little.
Now, Jayanna says that there will be two films: Gajapati with Vijay and Gajakesari with Yash. The latter will start soon, while the former will take some time. There is some speculation about whether Jayanna is saying this to avoid hurting Vijay, who was the hero in his earlier film, Johnny Mera Naam, or if he really will make two films with two different heroes with similar-sounding titles.
