It's fashionable to play a villain now: Aditya
It looks like villain roles are the order of the day after namma Sudeep's negative role in his latest release earned him widespread appreciation. The next to join the bandwagon is Aditya, who will make his Kollywood debut in a negative role with Vaalu that stars Simbu and Hansika Motwani.
The actor, who is shooting for the film in Hyderabad, is excited about playing the villain.

Talking about how he landed the offer, Aditya says, 'A couple of my stills from the movie Villain had been sent to production houses in Chennai as some filmmakers had expressed interest in remaking the movie in Tamil. The director of Vaalu,Vijay Chander, thought that I'd fit the bill in his film and approached me with the script. It's not a stereotypical role.'
With several actors vying to make their debut as the lead in other industries, why did Aditya choose a negative role for his debut? 'Several actors are taking up villain roles, including Shivarajkumar, who has evinced interest in playing such roles. With the success of his last film, Sudeep has silenced his critics. So, why not play a villain? It's fashionable today to take up such roles. My character is stylish, silent yet deadly,' says Aditya.
The actor is also excited about being featured in a song. 'It's a montage song for a villain,' he says. Ask him about working with Simbu and he says, 'People think that he's controversial, but he seems to be a chilled-out guy. A director himself, he's extremely creative and technically clued in. It's great to work with him.'
Aditya has already been receiving offers from Kollywood. 'I've got offers even before Vaalu has hit the screens. But I'm not in a hurry to sign Tamil films,' he says. Has he been offered to play a negative role in Singam 2? 'I did get an offer and director Hari is coming to Hyderabad to discuss the script. I am too nervous to play the villain opposite Suriya,' he laughs, adding, 'Things are yet to be finalized.'
