Kannada actors in state elections

The Karnataka State Assembly elections are just over a month away, and there are several names from Sandalwood that are being touted to contest in them. Several big stars, have, of course been approached by political parties.
Some of the names on the candidates’ list include Pooja Gandhi and Rakshitha, who are said to be contesting from the BSR party. Madan Patel and his son Mayoor are contesting from T Narasipura and Mahadevapura respectively.The stars who are reported to contest from parties such as Congress (I), BJP, KJP, JDS and BSR are Ambareesh, Umasri, Darshan’s mother Meena Toogudeepa Srinivas, Ramya’s mother Ranjeetha, Kumar Bangarappa, Shashikumar, BC Patil, K Manju, B Vijayakumar, Malavika Avinash, Jaggesh, Dr Srinath, Bhavana, Dr V Nagendra Prasad, Mukyamantri Chandru, Ravi Kiran, Dr Sunder Raj, Pramila Joshai and producer Munirathna Naidu, among others.
Nominations are to be filed on April 10 for the election that will take place on May 5.
