After his first film, Kaafi Thota, entrepreneur-turned-producer Nityanand Bhat was looking for another project to work on, when he was introduced to director
Kodlu Ramakrishna. “I was an engineering student when his film Udbhava released. I had seen it multiple times and have been a big fan of the film and
Anant Nag’s character, Raganna. Kodlu then told me that he was working on the sequel of Udbhava and I was intrigued enough to back it,” says Nityanand.
“If Udbhava was all about Anant (who was shown to have two sons), Matthe Udbhava follows his younger son’s escapades, who, as it turns out, is just as street smart or more than the father in using people to his advantage.
And that is what drew me to the film,” he adds. Starring
Pramod, Rangayana Raghu and
Milana Nagaraj in lead roles, the film, produced by White Panthers Creatives, is slated to release today in 160 centres across the state.
