Director Mayuraaa Raghavendra recently confirmed that he has already begun work for his second project, with Rachita Ram for Kolamvu Kokila remake. On #QuickTakesWithBangaloreTimes, the filmmaker shares his top five favourite directors and how they have inspired him in his career in films.
1. Puttanna Kanagal:
He has always been the number one inspiration for me. I have been watching all of his films and his journey has been very inspiring to me.

He undoubtedly remains as the most inspiring filmmaker for me.
2. Upendra :
In the early 90s, I watched this film called Tarle Nan Maga, which was a comedy. Since that day, whether it was Usssh or Super, Upendra sir has been a big inspiration.
3. Mani Ratnam:
In the late 90s, I watched a Tamil film called Anjali and that film made me want to follow Mani Ratnam sir's work. His work and films have also had a huge impact on me. I have watched all of his films. If I ever get an opportunity, I would love to work under him.
4. Christopher Nolan
: My journey with superhero and supernatural films began with Batman Begins and I was inspired by Christopher Nolan's work. For any filmmaker he remains as the biggest inspiration.
5. V Ravichandran and SS Rajamouli:
My guru and mentor V Ravichandran sir has been a huge inspiration. I got the opportunity to work with him for almost two years. I also admire SS Rajamouli sir's work. I envy and admire his vision towards Indian cinema.
