The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), in association with all Sandalwood film actors’ and technicians’ associations, is gearing up to pay homage to late
Puneeth Rajkumar with a special three-hour event on Tuesday, November 16. The entire industry will shut down for the day.
Former KFCC president and producer Sa Ra Govindu said, “We request everyone to please give us the same cooperation as on the two days that followed Puneeth’s untimely demise.
We especially request his fan clubs to honour our request as this event is limited to just 1,500 people and will be mostly silent. We have made every necessary arrangement for the entire event to be telecast live on television, so that no one misses out.”
Current KFCC president and exhibitor DR Jairaj shared, “We have invited members from the neighbouring states and their film industry and chambers too. We will have Chief Minister
Basavaraj Bommai presiding over the event and he has given his consent to be there for the entire time. We will also have leaders of the opposition and other dignitaries. Since the number of people who can attend this event is limited, the various associations in our film industry have cooperated and said they will just have a limited number of people representing them at the event.”
Actor, filmmaker and distributor
Navarasan, who is organising the event, shared that the event will have a few special tributes. “We will have a special song that has been written by Dr V Nagendra Prasad and set to tune by
Gurukiran played there. There will be a special video on Puneeth's journey and career. We will also have limited people coming on stage and sharing tributes, while there will be a small musical tribute of some of his hits too,” he added.
