30 years of 'Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi': Ashvini Bhave shares her throwback picture from the film

The Sachin Pilgaonkar directorial 1988, 'Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi' is by far the best Marathi Comedy film till date, which has completed iconic 30 years on September 23. It starred Sachin Pilgaonkar, Laxmikant Berde Ashok Saraf, Sushant Ray, Nivedita Saraf, Ashvini Bhave and Priya Arun.
Commemorating the same, Ashvini Bhave posted a throwback picture of herself from the film on her Instagram handle which was taken from the film 'Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi'.The actress captioned it as, “Celebrating 30 Iconic years of #AshiHiBanwaBanwi"

'Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi' is a remake of the 1966 Hindi film 'Biwi Aur Makan' directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film is a kind of tribute to the stage character of Bal Gandharva who was famous for playing both male and female characters. The film's plot revolves around four friends who are searching for rented accommodation. The landlady insists only on married couples, so two of the friends are forced to dress as women and pretend to be wives of the other two. Laxmikant Berde and Sachin Pilgaonkar perform a drag queen comedy-drama to the fullest.
