Nipun Dharmadhikari’s next Marathi outing, ‘Mee Vasantrao’, which is a biopic based on the life of music maestro Dr Vasantrao Deshpande, has been selected to be screened at The Marché du Film at Cannes.
Sharing the news on his social media account, Nipun wrote, "I am happy that finally something is happening with this film that so many have strived hard for.(I know that almost every film is made this way..) ..
Waiting patiently till it arrives in theatres and you, your family and friends watch it.. #cannes, (sic)."

Maharashtra is the only Indian state to have been pitching its films in the international market. Films like 'Ringan', 'Dithee', 'Bandishala', 'Dashakriya', among many others have been officially sent to the film market.

Rahul Deshpande, grandson of Dr Deshpande in the lead role. Anita Date, Amey Wagh, Pushkaraj Chirputkar and Kaumudi Walokar are also playing pivotal roles.
