Marathi actor
Subhash Yadav was arrested on Sunday for alleged sexual harassment of a 23-year-old actress.
“The issue was almost sorted out, but he came behind me in the ladies’ washroom to talk to me in the Wanowrie police station. It was the last nail in the coffin. It was then that I decided to once again file a police complaint against Subhash Yadav,” said the Marathi actress who has filed a molestation complaint against her co-star Subhash Yadav.
The Marathi actor who has played the role of Tapori in
Shaadi Abhi Baaki hai
was allegedly harassing the actress for the last two years by constantly calling and stalking her. The victim claims he even threatened to defame her if she refuses his advances.
“Subhash has been threatening me with suicide if I refused to accept his proposal of marriage. He kept sending me photos of a knife in his hand telling me that if I don’t reciprocate, he would end his life. He constantly kept sending me photos of a car saying he would ram it into a truck and claim that I instigated him to take the step in a suicide note. Fearing that he would end up doing so, I had filed a complaint against him with all the evidence. But since he apologized saying that if his ends up in the jail, his parents will be shattered, I withdrew the complaint,” says the victim
Subhash was booked by Wanowrie police in Pune under the sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 354D (sexual harassment and stalking). “She had previously tried to file a complaint against the actor. But he would end up apologising. This time too he apologised in front of the senior officers and we were going to be lenient. But he went behind the complainant to the washroom. He is currently out on bail,” said Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Bagul, from the police station.
Refuting these allegations, Subhash Yadav says, “This is not true and I am being framed. Some 15 days ago I had tried to complain against my video going viral. But this has been done to take the focus away from my complaint. The whole issue has been causing me lot of trauma.”
