Did you know Jaswinder Bhalla once got a chance to work with Aamir Khan?

In the current scenario, we see a number of Punjabi stars boarding the Bollywood bus. However, did you know veteran Punjabi star Jaswinder Bhalla got an opportunity? Shocked? Another shocking fact is that Jaswinder Bhalla actually rejected the role.
Reportedly, Jaswinder Bhalla was offered a role in the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Mela’. Released in 1999, the movie had Johny Lever in an interesting role, which was initially offered to Jaswinder Bhalla.According to the reports, the makers of the movie believed that the role was crafted specifically for Jaswinder.
However, the makers of ‘Mela’ also wanted to produce Jaswinder Bhalla’s popular ‘Chankatta’ series under their banner. Bhalla believed he had a better understanding of Punjabi artists and audience and thus, the decision would have not favored him or his production house. Therefore, he gave up on the offer.
To date, the artist is offered a number of characters in Bollywood, but his love for the Punjabi language and cinema doesn’t allow him to leave the respective genre.
