The controversial Punjabi film `Sadda Haq' that has reached the Supreme Court in an appeal against the ban on the film's screening in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, will have to wait till today evening for the final verdict from the Apex court. After deferring its judgment on the film since last week, the court, that heard the film's producer
Kuljinder Singh Sidhu's alibi on Thursday, has appointed a committee of five senior counsels to review the film.
Says Kuljinder, "The honourble committee members will watch the film today and give their verdict by today evening. We are hopeful."
The film that is a story which is backdropped against militancy ridden Punjab, has generated controversy for its contents that are allegedly provocative for religious sentiments, in a justification given by the Punjab government that banned its release despite the film's clearance from the Censor Board, even as the filmmakers maintain there is nothing pro-militancy in this film.
