On Father’s Day today, TOI talks to Odisha’s doting dads...
Nila Madhab Panda, Director
Every father is an inspiration for the child. For me, it was my dad and I wish my son, Aatman, is also inspired by me. Though I have begun to live in a nuclear family, I will try and inculcate the values of a joint family in my son. On this Father’s Day, I will take my son out on a long drive. We want to go out of the city. I want to share tales from my childhood so that he can be rooted in my culture. I will also watch movies with him and treat him to a special dinner.
Susant Mani, Director
If I had to choose between my son and my films, I would always give preference to my son — Samarpit. Not only on Fathers’ Day, I celebrate our bond whenever we are together. One look at his face after a hard day’s work makes me forget all the tensions in life. He makes me feel like the richest man on this planet. Though I spend some quality time with him everyday, today will be very special. I will be with him and play his favourite games. My dream in life is to see him become a good musician.

Abhijit Majumdar, Composer
My son, Ayush, is the apple of my eye. We are the best of buddies. He is the one whom I love more than anyone else. I often take him along with me while going out. I have no qualms in admitting that he loves my company more than that of his mom. If he feels depressed at home, he waits for me to return from the studio so that he can share his agony with me. On Father’s Day today, I am planning to show him my movie, “Matric Fail”. I will also take him out for a special dinner.
