Yes, that’s true.
Why is it that you took so long to talk about your love?
It has always been an open secret. I don’t believe that if I love someone, I need to thump my chest, shout from the rooftop and let the whole world know about my feelings. It’s a deeply personal emotion that has to nurtured with a lot of care. We need kid gloves to handle love and let it blossom. It’s taken time for me to bond with her. You can’t rush in love and it’s difficult for me to pinpoint any single moment and say that’s when I understood that I am in love. Having said that, I always want to respect privacy. There is a time to talk about everything without rushing.
What is it that you like about actor Varsha Priyadarshini?
I like everything about her. The way she is and everything about her being have impressed me. From her looks to her behaviour and acting — I admire her immensely. The best part is that I love her as a human being. Varsha is one of the best souls I have ever met. Everything about her makes me happy.
Are you as romantic in real life as you are on screen?
I don’t know that. I have never been taught how to love. I just love. We share a mutual respect for each other. My feeling is very pure and healthy. We respect each other’s family values.
Do you meet regularly apart from work?
Apart from work, we never meet or even talk to each other.
What does love mean to you?
Love is an unconditional emotion. The term ‘love’ should never be belittled. People say that they fall in love but for me, it is always a high. I rise in love.
If there is one movie that you want Barsha to watch with you, what would that be?“Maine Pyar Kiya” and “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”.
Earlier you were paired with her. Now, she isn’t acting opposite you. Do you miss her on the sets?
Of course, I do. When we used to work together, people would ask why we were being paired together in movies. Now that she is no longer working with me, the question is why she is absent from my movie. I think, it’s futile for people to speculate about us. They should stop indulging in idle talk and concentrate on their own work. Frustrated individuals and sadists have the time in the world to indulge in gossip. I care two hoots about them. Even after reading this interview, I know rumour mongers will be working overtime. But I can’t care less.
It’s heard that the premiere of your “ACP Ranveer” will be held in Bangalore...
