Music maestro AR Rahman recently found himself under the spotlight following the announcement of his separation from wife
Saira Banu. The personal development was soon followed by a health scare that led to widespread concern among his fans, with reports claiming he had been hospitalized due to chest pain. These back-to-back incidents stirred public attention and media speculation. However,
Rahman has now come forward to address both matters, offering clarity and reassurance.
Health scare was a gastric attack, not chest pain
In a candid conversation with India Today, AR Rahman dismissed rumours about a major health issue. He revealed that his hospital visit was triggered by a gastric attack caused by fasting and switching to a vegetarian diet. "I was fasting and had turned vegetarian. I got a gastric attack and was in the hospital. The next thing I knew, it was all over the news," he explained. Rahman was genuinely touched by the outpouring of love and concern from fans during the episode, calling it a heartwarming experience.
Separation draws unwanted gossip, AR Rahman responds gracefully
AR Rahman also broke his silence on his separation, which had drawn widespread speculation and invasive gossip. Despite a public appeal for privacy, rumors about the reasons behind their split circulated online. Speaking on the matter, he acknowledged that while the speculation was uncomfortable, it showed how much people cared about his life and well-being. He chose to take this overwhelming attention positively, saying it made him feel valued.
Embracing support and moving forward with gratitude
Reflecting on both personal and professional phases, AR Rahman shared a deeper message about resilience and gratitude. “Each one of us is a superhero in our own world, but my fans made me feel like one,” he said. Fittingly, his upcoming tour is titled Wonderment—a celebration of the continued love and blessings he receives, even amidst life’s many challenges.
