Rajan Madhav comes from a musical background he is the son of noted Malayalam music director M Raveendran and brother to singer Naveen Madhav and composer Sajan Madhav. But Rajan insists that filmmaking was always his passion. Theres no denying that Im in love with music. In fact, I learnt Carnatic and western music for several years.
But, I cant make music. Ive always been fascinated by filmmaking, he begins.
Rajan has assisted Shaji Kailash in six films and has been the co-director of Mysskins Anjathey. He was also part of Nandalala and Yuddham Seis scripting team.
His directorial debut, Muran, which went on the floors recently, has Cheran, Prasanna, Haripriya and Nikita Thukral in the lead. Muran is a subtle thriller. Its about two guys who have completely different ideologies in life. What happens when their fundamentals contradict each other? This is the idea of Muran. The film is as real and rational as possible and will have a running time of just 90 minutes. This is new to Tamil cinema and I hope the audience accept it he says.
Rajan approached Cheran through a common friend and narrated five scripts before Cheran finally zeroed in on Muran. Cheran lives and breathes cinema. Im glad he chose to work with me, smiles Rajan.
Hes also in search of his search of a third heroine for the film. The character demands a girl who has an Anglo-Indian look. Since we will be shooting her scenes only in the last schedule, we are taking our time to find a girl who suits the character, he says.
The music for the film will be scored by Sajan Madhav. Hes already composed two songs and they are according to youngsters taste, he signs off.
