I missed the Oscars due to my exams: Shravanthi

When Life of Pi was reaping honours at the Oscars, actress Sharavanthi Sainath, who is originally from Chennai, was on cloud nine. However, she could not attend the event with the rest of the movie���s crew due to her exams.
The class 12 student explains, ���I missed the Oscars due to my exams. My name was shortlisted to attend the event. Members from the committee called me to confirm my presence but I had to opt out as my board exams are around the corner and I have to prepare for it.��� So, did she get a chance to speak to director Ang Lee? ���I spoke to him at the time of the nominations and now, I have mailed my congratulatory message to him.��� She adds, ���Working with Ang Lee was a fascinating experience.He made me realize that hard work will be appreciated one day.���
It may be recalled that Shravanthi attended the auditions for the role when Ang Lee was in search for a classical dancer from the city and got selected through her dance school. She says, ���After my exams, I would like to work on challenging films. I would like to do justice to that rare chance that I have got in my life.���
