Ilaiyaraaja remembers SP Balasubrahmanyam on his birth anniversary

Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam had passed away in 2020 after a long battle with health complications that arose following the coronavirus infection. ON his birth anniversary today (June 4), music mastero Ilaiyaraaja remembers the veteran singer.
Ilaiyaraaja and SP Balasubrahmanyam's camaraderie is a well-known one in the Tamil film and music industry. On the occasion of SPB's birth anniversary today, Ilaiyaraaja took to his social networking page and wrote, "Always in my remembrance ...miss you"

Even before Ilaiyaraaja became famous, SPB used to be very close to Raja and brothers. It is said the SPB used to recommend Raja and his brothers to directors and producers and even took them on his scooter. When SPB passed away, Ilaiyaraja was inconsolable and he went to Tiruvannamalai and lighted a Moksha Deepam for his dear Balu.
Ilaiyaraaja's collaboration with SPB produced massive hits for Rajnikanth in Bhuvana Oru Kelvikuri, Aarulinrundhu 60 Varai, Jhonny, Thambikku Endha Ooru, Guru Sishyan, Maappillai, Thalapathy and so on. The duo also produced massive hits for Sivakumar, Vijayakanth, Prabhu and others actors like Mohan, Ramarajan and Rajkiran.
