The fantasy horror film 'Kingston', starring GV Prakash Kumar and directed by Kamal Prakash the movie opened with mixed reviews and after its theatrical release, the film will be gearing up for its OTT debut.
As per a report by Filmibeat, 'Kingston' is set to premiere on ZEE5, marking a significant OTT deal for the film. Although the exact streaming date has not been announced, fans can expect it to debut on the platform in early April, depending on the film's box office performance.
The film follows Kingston, played by GV Prakash Kumar, a daring sea smuggler who works for Thomas played by Sabumon Abdusamad, a powerful figure controlling the smuggling trade in the region. Kingston discovers that he has been involved in drug smuggling instead of sea cucumbers and decides to venture into the cursed sea to uncover the truth and break the curse. Alongside his lover Rose portrayed by Divyabharathi, Kingston navigates the treacherous waters, facing supernatural forces and dark secrets from the past.

The narrative is set in the backdrop of a cursed sea and a village trapped in fear.
The film features a talented cast, including Chetan, Nithin Sathya, Azhagam Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and Sabumon Abdusamad.
Despite its mixed reviews, 'Kingston' has been praised for its visual effects and background score, both of which were handled by GV Prakash Kumar. The film was made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 crore. However, the narrative has been criticized for being slow-paced and lacking emotional depth, particularly in the first half.
