Kochadaiyaan has nothing to do with Ranadheeran

Right from the day Kochadaiyaan was announced there is a buzz that it is Rana to be presented packaged as Kochadaiyaan. Latha Rajinikanth had denied these as rumors and has said that Kochadaiyaan was sort of a prequel to Rana.
This question keeps cropping up whenever KS Ravi Kumar meets the press. Even recently he was asked if Kochadaiyaan is the story about the 17th century warrior Ranadheeran.To this, KS Ravi Kumar has said that Kochadaiyaan has nothing to do with Ranadheeran or Rana and one should not believe in such gossips.
The shooting of Kochadaiyaan is currently on in London with Soundarya Rajinikanth helming the affairs as the director. KS Ravi Kumar is in-charge of the story, screenplay and dialogues.
