Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' released last Friday and the film has been running successfully in theatres. 'Darbar' was reportedly illegally telecast by a local cable TV channel in Madurai yesterday and Lyca Productions complained about the same to the Madurai police commissioner's office, seeking action. Following this, a report on a news portal affirmed that the local police of Madurai have arrested the cable TV owner for airing the pirated version of Rajinikanth's 'Darbar'.
Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' has grossed Rs 150 crore worldwide at the end of its first weekend.
As soon as it released on the silver screen, the film was leaked on the internet by Tamilrockers, but fans of Rajinikanth have been faithfully watching the film in theatres.
Lyca Productions has invested huge money in the film which released in around 7000 screens worldwide. 'Darbar' is directed by AR Murugadoss and features Rajinikanth and Nayanthara in the lead roles, while the film’s music is composed by
Anirudh Ravichander. The film also stars Nivetha Thomas, Sunil Shetty, Yogi Babu, Dalip Tahil,
Jatin Sarna and Prateik Babbar among others.
