Superstar Rajinikanth (age 74) has been admitted to Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai due to sudden illness. While there have been various reports on his treatment, an official statement from the hospital confirms that he had undergone non surgical treatment and is stable and will return home in a couple of days.
The official statement from the hospital read, "Mr.
Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days."
Meanwhile on the work front, Rajinikanth had been shooting of his upcoming film 'Coolie' with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Earlier on Monday, he also met veteran filmmakers SP Muthuraman and AVM Saravanan, and the photos of this meeting had gone viral on social media.
