His scripts have not only become silver jubilee hits in Kollywood but in Bollywood as well.
So, when K Bhagyraj, one on the eminent screenwriters of the 80s and early 90s, says that specialist screenwriters have become far and few, one does have to sit up and take notice. Says the ace director and actor, 'Today, the people who are directing films are mostly youngsters.So, they come up with stories based on their experiences which mostly revolve around romance and other youth-centric plots. That is why films on mature subjects have become a rarity. If we had writers, we will have more variety.'
