With its gripping storyline based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, 'Amaran' has gained widespread acclaim and box-office success. By striking the box office across locations, 'Amaran' has successfully surpassed 300 crore globally. Sivakarthikeyan has delivered a historical hit to emerge as the only fourth actor to have a solo 300 crore grosser. When stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay took extended periods to see a peak, Sivakarthikeyan achieved the feat in a quick time and he proved his box office strength well through his latest release.
'Amaran' grossed more than Rs 130 crore in Tamil Nadu, while the domestic collection of the film is estimated to be around Rs 210 crore. Despite the release of Suriya's 'Kanguva', Sivakarthikeyan's film dominates the box office, and it received solid occupancy on its third Monday. The OTT release of 'Amaran' has been pushed to a week later as the film is holding well at the box office.
Sivakarthikeyan reprised the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan in 'Amaran' and he impressed the audience through his soulful performance. Sai Pallavi stole the show in her character as Indu Rebecca Varghese, the wife of Major Mukund Varadarajan. Rajkumar Periyasamy's directorial gave a complete focus on Mukund Varadarajan's life from a college student to becoming a brave Indian Soldier, and the emotional film attracted fans across locations. GV Prakash Kumar's songs and background score added power to the film.
