After having worked in the field of VFX for a few years now, V is now debuting as a director and an actor with Vishamakaran. A melodrama, the film is based on the concept of manipulation. “We launched the film with a poojai on August 31, and finished the entire production within two months. The shoot was done in Chennai – at a resort in ECR, an office in OMR, and a studio.
But we have done a lot of VFX and audience won’t even feel like the film is set in Chennai,” begins V, “We are planning to launch the audio and teaser trailer by the first week of February.”
While V plays the protagonist, he has roped in Anicka Vikhraman and Chaithra Reddy for the female leads. “The film will revolve just around the three of us. I play a life coach in the film, and for him, manipulation comes naturally because. He leads a happy life with his wife. But what happens when his ex-girlfriend comes into their lives? Though the film looks like it may tackle bigamy, the focus is on the game of manipulation,” he says.
Ask V what prompted him to make a film, and he says, “My core business is software. But we do presentations for corporates. Two years ago, we decided to make a film as an experiment; it would have a lot of VFX. This was like our pet project. In that process, we made a comprehensive movie management software. Actually, this software app’s by-product is our film, Vishamakaran! This software helped us in the entire pre and post-production; we planned the film on the app. We had kept 17 call sheets as our budget, but we finished it in just 13 call sheets. Along with the film, we are planning to release this software for public consumption as well.”
