Udhayanidhi Stalin, who started his cinema as a producer, turned into an actor steadily, but the actor has now decided to quit his cinema career after becoming a busy politician. Udhayanidhi was last seen on big screens in 'Kannai Nambathey', and the film failed to do well at the box office.
'Kannai Nambathey' was one of the long delayed project of Udhayanidhi, and the film kick started production in 2019.
Even after completing the shooting in 2022, it delayed further to hit the big screens. Finally, Mu Maran's directorial was released in theatres last March. The delay in the project spoiled 'Kannai Nambathey', which eventually failed to hold its screens for the successive weeks. However, there is an opportuning for fans, who missed watching the film in theatres as Udhayanidhi starrer is slated to stream on a popular OTT from April 14.
'Kannai Nambathey' features Udhayanidhi Stalin and
Aathmika in lead roles with Prasanna, Srikanth,
Bhumika Chawla, Vasundhara Kashyap,
Sathish, G Maarimuthu, and
Subhiksha among others in crucial roles. Siddhu Kumar scored the music, while the cinematography and editing were handled respectively by Jalandhar Vasan and San Lokesh.
Udhayanidhi Stalin will be next seen on big screens in 'Maamannan', which is directed by
Mari Selvaraj, and the social drama will be the actor turned politician's last film as a hero. The post-production work for the film is progressing smoothly, and the film might hit the big screens in June.
